You live your life.
Let us call it "your life".
There is a Truth about it that you do not know.
It is this...
"Your life" is suffering.
Non-stop suffering.
Before you dismiss my statement as some holy/pious/religious/proselytical statement,
I will dismiss your impending dismissal.
I will not convince you of it.
I will not argue against you denying it.
I will simply state it in different forms for the rest of the post.
You are free to do with it, what you wish, as you wish.
You love your wife and kids?
You are suffering in that "love".
For you do not understand what hides behind "love".
You do not understand the world of other needs and desires.
that entail from "loving" the other.
What if she were to die tomorrow?
Your children too?
If you say "Yes I will then suffer",
then you are suffering today.
You are "single" or in remorse for someone?
You are suffering for you crave that someone in your life.
That constant desire for another is suffering.
Contrarily, if say you "I do not need anyone!",
you are burning yourself in that egoistic claim.
For you are yet to understand in all the ways that claim is serving you.
For in that serving, you numb your suffering.
You are "successful"?
You are suffering for you are attached to your "successes".
The need to be more and more successful consumes most of your day.
This need bleeds into other aspects of your life - your physical health and your relationships.
All this non-stop maintenance to maintain your status of "being successful" is suffering.
You are "rich"?
You are "rich" because you are poor.
You are poor because you do not have EVERYTHING.
You merely have something.
But the far worse reality is your attachment to that something.
Yes, you know you are attached to your wealth.
You protect it with all your might.
Its protection and accumulation of riches and the constant catering to it, is your suffering.
You are "poor"?
You are poor because you are comfortable.
Or you are poor because you do not recognize your riches.
Either way, being comfortable is one thing,
but then, you find comfort in being comfortable.
Some people call this "routine" or "finding a balance".
I call this is suffering.
"Knowing" deep down that you are much more than who you are today,
but continually numbing that voice by masking
the Present with "your present" is suffering (in "your present").
You are physically fit, Strong, or even a Champion?
Are you content with your Strength?
Or it needs active training and external therapy to build and maintain?
Are you at Peace with your run in your sport?
Or it needs constant self-consolation that "you did good" or "you will get there someday"?
Have you found the Truth behind your Body and its abilities?
Or at least on track with - what needs to be done - every single day?
If you answered no to even a single of the questions above,
then you are suffering.
What is Suffering?
Pain.
A detachment from the Moment.
A constant need to be somewhere or do something else.
An attachment to your own Self and everything related to it.
A lack of contentedness with what is here and now, no matter the situation.
The Truth behind Suffering is dead simple.
As long you exist as who you are today, you will suffer.
The very moment you FULLY SEE who you really are,
all of it will simply vanish.
For "you" will vanish.
Thank you.
