Why train?

Posted by Suman on Jan 05, 2019

Have you paused to wonder...

Why is it, that you really train?

You train to "get in shape"?

Why are you really out of shape?

Why is it that you want to "get in shape"?

In fact, you are better off staying "out of shape" and question...

what is it, that is keeping you there?

What will you chase next, when you are "in shape"?.

If it is worth at all, to "get in shape" for "that"?

You train to "compete"?

Why do you want to compete against others?

Isn't life throwing enough "competitions" at you?

Isn't the burden of "competing" at work, during conversations, at parties, at the gym enough?

You train to escape from your "problems"? To be in your "zone"?

Why are your "problems" sticking around?

Why find yet another escape?

(You already have too many escapes, more escapes will create more "problems")

Why not face your "problems" for once?

Or you need training for that too?

You train to "feel better"?

Why the need to feel better? Why the need for a "hit"?

Do you even know how you feel at a given point of time?

Or you think you know?

And tell you what, thought is the biggest liar there is...

Why train then, really?

Why not stay a "happy family man", mask your emptiness by your "family", its needs and requirements, a 9-to-5, parties, and socialization?

Or why not become an "ambitious somebody" and "make the world a better place", fill in the emptiness with "something"?

Or why not just give in to your vices, addictions and be a hedonist, for life?

You are free to do so if you wish.

And most of you, will. It is a given.

Why do I say this?

Just look at history, millions gave-in and died having lived a "life" of sheep or that of a sheep wearing a wolf's skin.

Just look at the people around you, almost everyone is either a sheep or a sheep disguising as a wolf.

And trust me or not when I say, that the future will be just the same.

It is not in your hands to "change the future"

But it is in your hand to change yourself.

So, I say ...

Train to kill the sheep.

Train to unleash the Wolf.

Train, not to "be in your zone"

Or to run away from your "life problems", to "be in your bubble"

Train to realize that there are no real problems

And that the "bubble" is your biggest enemy, creating all your "problems"...

Train to forge the spirit.

And to get your spirit out from under the thumb of your ego... your insecurities... your vices... your hopes... your routine... your comfort zone...

... your Mind.

Train to realize that nothing in life has meaning or purpose.

And that, the moment is the only thing you have got.

Train to suffer.

Because pleasure and "happiness" are temporary but suffering is forever.

Train ...

And suffer long enough to realize ...

That there is really no suffering.

Train ...

Long enough to realize that Life is just another opportunity to "train", to suffer...

And that which you have been calling suffering, is actually the peace and bliss that you have forever craved.

And "training" is the only way to get there.

Thank you.
