What is fear?

Posted by Suman on Nov 15, 2020

To put in its most "objective" sense,

fear is a reaction of the

Mind towards a thing.

This thing can be an event or a person

or a projection of the Mind

related to that thing.

For instance, a fantasy or memory.

Though this distilled understanding,

can be immediately intellectualized,

it is not Available to man.

If it was, all his fears will disappear

right this Moment.

To man, fear is not registered for what it is.

Just like every other thing in his life.

Because, he experiences fear subjectively.

This experience has many facets.

This experience is also multilayered.

No matter the situation a man is in,

when he says or internally

acknowledges -

"I am afraid",

he is actually lying.

Because in stating that,

he has merely expressed a thought.

This thought is a reaction to the situation.

Or in most cases, a reaction to another reaction.

This other reaction may or may not be related to the situation.

And to reveal more of the illusion he is in,

this situation is what he thinks is

the situation.

Such a man lives his life hopping between

his reactions to his (imagined) situations.

However,

independent of his hops and reactions,

there is actually a situation at a given point in his life!

For instance, this could be a high-profile meeting

or conversation or a family get-together.

The thing he ought to be afraid of in that situation,

is not what he is afraid of!

Because he is caught in his own imaginary situation,

he is afraid of something equally imaginary.

Put simply...

He does not even truly experience his fears.

The reality behind such a man and situations

he finds himself in is simple...

He just does not know.

Because to put in its most truthful sense,

Fear is one of the many consequences

of not Knowing.

Because he does not Know,

he does not care to know.

Because he does not know,

he is continually spinning a multilayered

and multifaceted web of [what he thinks is] around his core.

All the while,

also getting farther away from his core.

His experiences are really him wandering in this

multi-dimensional web of lies.

All the things he says,

are merely a reactive expression to that

which he does not understand.

Fear is just one such reaction.

Need it be made any more obvious...?

He will stay fearful all his life.

No wonder, man lives fearfully.

He experiences lies and lies alone.

Because his experiences is the web that he is

continually spinning to keep himself from Reality.

Even if he reaches the point of making his fears

his top concern, he will only find himself lying.

Because his "concern" will be another layer of

the thick and cozy web that he has gotten

too-too comfortable spinning.

Thank you.
