What do you want?

Posted by Suman on Mar 17, 2019

Why is that in their pursuit of that which they are going for,

some seem to breeze through and achieve all that they wished to (and perhaps even more),

while others barely make it, suffer at every turn or simply give up?

Why is it, that, at the end of a competition,

in the final standings, most are clogged together,

(As if they were competing against each other)

and the rare one or two are class apart?

(As if they knew something, the others did not)

Why is it that some execute as a true master or an artist,

letting their bodies express fully, without constraints,

while others execute slavishly as if bound by the chains of a "technique",

constraining themselves to rules, shoulds, and shouldn'ts?

And why life for most, is almost continuously full of strife,

constantly coming in their way to whatever they wish to achieve,

whereas for some, life seems to flow with them,

taking them where they want to go, even bending around them, if need be?

The one answer to these and similar many questions is ...

If you know what you want, you get everything and may struggle.
If you do not, you struggle for everything and may get something.

Before you start examining the verity of the statement, fitting each and every one of your superficial wants and desires to it,

I must tell you that the desire or wanting is not a superficial one.

The "wanting" in this context is not merely "wanting for wanting's sake"

It is not a "Yes, I would want that" sort of wanting.

It is not a desire you unconsciously pick up while living amongst the sheepish.

In fact, such a desire cannot be externally planted into you.

For any and all external or superficial wanting will but mask such a deep wanting.

As a wanting like that is very, very internal

Deeper than yourself.

It is a want that does not extinguish after it is fulfilled.

In fact, a wanting like that cannot be fulfilled in the "traditional" manner.

It cannot be chased or attained like the other mundane ones.

For it does not spark or fuel a chase of any sort.

Because all chases are imprisoning in nature. They keep you bound to the chase.

They make you sacrifice the very thing which you have always craved: Freedom

A deep and personal want like that can only be expressed

(Once it is unearthed from within the deep recesses of yourself.)

An expression which provides a satisfaction so deep, no other desire can touch the depths of.

An expression that quenches the thirst you have always had for life.

An expression that doesn't imprison you to a need for another expression.

An expression that sets you free.

Free to do anything and everything.

Free to express the very depths of you over and over again.

And attain true freedom in the process.

Thank you.
