The Mind is "everything".
Just as in the movie The Matrix,
there is a hypothetical "The Matrix" that physically and mentally trapped humans,
in almost the exact same way (albeit minus the machines and the other "fun stuff"),
the Mind has you in its grips at this very moment.
There is a scene in the movie,
where the character Trinity says this to the character Neo...
The Matrix cannot tell you who you are.
This statement could not be any nearer to the Truth about the Mind either.
For the Mind,
will never ever allow you to learn,
let alone "tell you",
who or what you really are.
For it has been "everything" you have experienced so far in your life.
But "everything" is not EVERYTHING,
which you could experience,
and thus become if you awaken.
Today,
"everything" includes your pains, worries, and concerns.
"everything" includes your joys and excitements,
"everything" includes your passion and fervor,
"everything" includes your likes and dislikes,
"everything" includes your memories,
...
The memories,
in pictures and text,
sourced from which "I" wrote about the snippets from the movie,
were "saved" somewhere in "my" Mind.
Other than its ability to recollect,
the ability to correlate the similarities in nature of the Mind and "The Matrix",
is one of its native abilities.
The Mind has many, many, many abilities.
Some of these abilities are exposed as a part and parcel of "normal living".
For instance, computation, inference, managing,
collaboration, delegation, planning, prioritization, etc.
It is these abilities that society harnesses to "move forward" as a whole.
(Though I will thoroughly challenge the "forward" in its "movement")
Then there are abilities that are hidden,
and often unique to every human.
I do not have to explicitly tell you,
that most humans live their entire lives not getting to leverage them.
Oh and by the way,
before getting to anything else about the Mind,
the most crucial thing to note,
is that the "I" or he who is implied by "my",
in the statement few lines above,
is not the human whose fingers and knowledge produced these words!
It is his Self.
A mental image which the human (foolishly and naively when he did so),
concocted and then catered to over the "first half" of his lifetime.
(The half when he was asleep and drugged by his Mind.)
The next crucial thing to note is this ...
The "I" is at the center of "everything"
Yes.
The "everything" that your Mind has shown you thus far.
"I" is at the very base of the foundation,
on which the momentous "everything" was built.
And it is not hard to deduce,
though by itself a very, very powerful realization...
If there is no "I" there will be no "everything"
For the "everything" cannot stand,
let alone grow in every possible direction,
if there is no foundation beneath.

Now,
on to other things about the Mind...
The Mind has a DESIRE.
And then, the Mind also has "desires".
The DESIRE is that of knowing the Truth.
What Truth?
The Truth about itself, about life and about "everything".
However,
for the Mind picked randomly,
this DESIRE is hidden and not "available".
Because living a societal existence or being nurtured improperly,
busies it with desiring a bunch of other things. (Its "desires")
Some call it "materialistic" or "worldly" desires.
But the label is of no importance,
for the Truth is that the "desires" keep it from the DESIRE.
In the same way,
The Mind has a FEAR.
And then, the Mind has "fears".
The FEAR is that of death. Of it not existing.
Of it being obliterated off the face of this earth.
And once again,
this single deep-rooted fear is trapped beneath many other "fears".
The "fears" are there because of the "desires".
That is, it "fears" of not "getting" what it "desires",
and of living "empty-handed".
These "fears" keep it from coming face-to-face with its FEAR.
The FEAR, which in actuality, will GIVE (show) it what it DESIRES (The Truth).
(A beautiful predicament, is it not?)
The Mind has NEEDS.
It has some basic NEEDS,
and then other "needs".
The NEEDS are that of food, shelter, and perhaps, well-being.
But getting trapped in its own "desires" and the "fears",
and looking around at other Minds in the societal setting,
it gives birth to very many illusionary "needs".
So say,
because it "needs" X,
it "desires" Y,
and then it "fears" that it may not "get" Y.
OR
Because it "desires" Y,
it starts "needing" X,
and then it "fears" that it may lose X.
Either way,
as if this chaotic "trinity" of "needs", "desires" and "fears"
were not enough to blunt the Minds DESIRE (for Truth),
the entity of TIME,
catalysts the birth of another chaotic "monster" -> "hope".
The "hope" that "someday",
or sometime in the "future", it will "get" what it "needs" (or "desires").
And like a slippery slope,
one away from the Truth,
and towards the illusionary "everything"...
the Mind loses itself in itself!
The Mind becomes its own "desires", "fears", "needs", and "hopes",
leaving merely a speck of a shadow of itself available for reality.
Though it needs be mentioned,
again and again,
that it is the societal existence that supercharges this downfall,
acting as a powerful "steroid" to this "natural" tendency.
For when amidst society,
the Mind unveils a bunch of other illusionary crutches and hooks into itself.
Illusions on which entire books can be written should one be so inclined.
But perhaps,
for the sake of this post and the next,
the one societal hook or crutch that needs mentioning is this...
... Its dependence on "Hows" or "ways to get" its "needs", "desires", and "hopes"...
...continued in part-2.
