Society is and will always be about norms and practices.
Norms because that is how contagious the human mind is.
Practices, because the mind is never content until it bastardizes the underlying art.
Starting or becoming involved with a startup or a business has been the norm for the past few years.
In appearing as an escape for the workaholics stuck and miserable in a 9-5,
or the sloths who would rather live off others' riches,
being involved in a startup has either become the new 9-5 or a lottery to try one's luck with.
And before you question me "what is wrong with that?"
I'll say, how can something be "wrong" with it.
Such a "progression" is the "class act" of the human mind.
And is and will always be how the mind imprisons every human being,
and suffocates the innocent artist in them before they are born.
The glory of a human being lies in the ability to see through this clever game.
Instead, they get sucked right into it, enchanted by "prizes" available to win or the "rides" to experience.

I want to start my own business. But I am not sure how.
Inherent in that statement is the fact that you do not really want to start a business.
Because if you want to do something in life and then follow it up with a "How do I do it",
it means you are not serious enough about doing it.
That the desire is not strong enough, not urgent enough.
And that you've picked up that desire or want from one or many, many of such wants floating around your consciousness.
And thus, it is more than likely that you will not succeed with whatever you indulge yourself in.
However, before letting the statement above relieving you of your conundrum,
or giving you the license to fall right back into it,
is it not wiser to consider this question instead ...
"Why is it that I want to start a business?"
I think I have the right idea or execution plan.
Most people think a business is successful because of "the idea" or "the execution" or other such superficial terms.
While that is partially true, they mask the deeper Truth behind why a business is successful and continues to be so.
And that Truth is this ...
A business will flourish if the people behind it do.
Yes, in the end, it is about people, the human beings behind the business.
If they themselves are driven by the idea, the business will drive itself.
If not, or if they build someone else's idea, they will have to drive the business.
Whatever the people are inspired by, will be the business' inspiration.
Whatever will get them out of the bed in the morning, will tick the business forward too.
You see the difference, don't you?
Now until you have an idea that YOU are inspired by, what is the point in "starting a business"?
But I need experience before executing my OWN idea or inspiration.
I saw that coming ... "to gain experience"
To which I will say, what use is the "experience" which comes from a totally unrelated path?
Would you clean other people's houses to learn how to keep your own abode clean and organized?
Executing someone else's idea is like that, you are building (cleaning) their idea (house).
Of course, you will pick up a broad range of skills,
but the driving factor and the answers to "why you do what you do"
or "when you do what you do" will be radically different for either path.
When you build your own idea, you would know the answers to such questions.
When you build someone else's, you will have to "ask" or "search" or "find" the answers to such questions.
Then again, most people are content living a life of not knowing anything,
and just asking "how to" at every step, until they die.
Are you as sheepish as the rest?
