Why do anything?
One asks.
Why not do anything?
Responds the other, in a reprimanding manner.
As the argument continues.
Have you ever wondered why there are always two sides to every single thing in your life?
It is because the Mind sees things in a dual manner.
And usually, it has a penchant towards going for one over the other.
Why usually?
Because along with being dual, the Mind is recursive as well.
So then, it has a penchant for the penchant.
You can see where this is going ...
There are folks who like doing. They do and do and do. Achieve this. Gain that. Go here. Run there.
These people do not want to stop because they cannot stop.
Doing for them is being.
And then folks who abhor any and all doing.
Who, as the masses came up with the label for, are "sloths".
They like consuming and riding the pleasure train.
Many (including themselves) will look at with contempt at these folks and extoll the "doers".
And that is because they do not know the Truth.
The Truth that both the "doers" and the "sloths" are slaves to their Master.
The doers do because they cannot help doing ("Why not do anything"?). The "sloths" would rather not, because "why do anything"?
Perhaps both will see the light one day.
Perhaps before darkness comes for them, once and for all.
"What light", you ask?
The light of dawn. The light of the many stars at dusk.
The light of Nature
Yes.
Things happen in nature, naturally. Without any reason.
There are no taking sides. Nature is not penchant.
Nature is of the "all of a sudden" type.
Nature is random.
Nature just is.
Here up North, it is really rare to snow in April.
Yet, someday around late April, people woke up to a sight of all white around them.
Shiny things falling from the sky, as they stared out of their windows in disbelief.
People did not want to believe what the widened eyes were seeing.
They wanted the snowing to stop but their eyes and ears could not get enough of the surprise, the flowing, and dripping beauty.
They were getting concerned with their day ahead but their eyes could not care less of what was ahead.
Yes ...
These people, like all others around you, are cursed.
For they chose to be their minds and not their eyes and other senses.
And in doing so, they miss out on each and every experience
They are blinded by what they believe to be themselves.
They choose to side with that which saves them the "trouble" of appreciation
They choose to try to choose.
And "trying to choose" is the mind's favorite timesink.
Why is it so?
Because you see, the Mind does not choose at just one level.
The choosing exists at multiple levels within the Mind.
These levels are linked through understanding
One may choose to stay at the surface and ride the whims of the mind,
as their life slips by moment by moment.
Or they will decide to explore the levels, using the long-winded stairs to go from one to the next.
But to do so, they must realize an ability that they have within themselves.
An ability to use their master as a tool.
The ability to understand.
The ability to understand will guide them through the seemingly infinite levels of their prison
For it is not the repeated attempts to prisonbreak that will free them.
(It will prison them further)
It is gaining a crystal clear understanding of it, that will.
Thank you.
