Words can be defined.
But can a human being be defined?
Absolutely not.
When it comes to words,
what matters is what the human is able to make of the word.
If he leaves it to his Mind
to "understand" the meaning,
he will miss it.
On hearing
"What is seriousness?"
one part of his Mind will say
to be serious is "to be boring".
While the other part will say it means "being focussed".
And the other, something else.
Meanings from his Mind will not get him anywhere.
Meanings from his Mind will keep him where he is.
Meanings from his Mind will make him "lose his mind".
Meanings from his Mind will keep him in his Mind,
and,
forever as his Mind.
He will realize meanings are futile.
He will realize,
to understand words,
he must first understand life.
To understand life,
he must go beyond his Mind,
and become a ruthless,
and yet,
an innocent observer of things...
...of everything.
He will realize,
searching for meanings is a goose chase.
It is akin to being searching for the sake of the search.
Without being hungry first,
for the nectar or the elixir...
... of LIFE.
He will realize...
Seriousness is a DECISION.
One from which he cannot return.
Like jumping off a cliff without
knowing how far below rests the earth
or if the parachute mechanism will work.
He will notice...
When he is serious, he CHANGES.
There may be distractions in his life.
He may even be distracted at times.
But something within him knows what is the PRIORITY.
This gets him to act on that priority.
Everyday.
He will understand ...
Seriousness is the never extinguishing
fire deep inside of him,
no matter how dim or almost extinguished,
that insists on continuing despite him running into
layers and layers of unseriousness.
...
He will feel lost and helpless...
As the layers of unseriousness,
ones yet to be unlayered will try to pull him back.
They will torture him this way and that.
By showing him what prizes await on the other side.
Some will bring him on the brink of giving up
or postponing the endeavor for later.
Some, to seek help or assistance from someone else.
...
But as always,
a deeper voice within him,
one that has been his guide all this time,
will speak to him...
...
As long as you are serious,
it will work,
no matter what the Mind says.
...
As long as you are serious,
it WILL work,
no matter how badly the Mind wants to know -
"how long will it take !?"
...
As long as you are serious
it WILL work,
given you are serious tomorrow too.
