Mind-fullness in this context does not imply its traditional or mainstream usage - mindfulness
In the mainstream, it is a buzzword.
Mindfulness, asks one to "focus", to "clear the mind".
This basically implies an attempt to reach a state where one is not distracted.
Under the hood what mindfulness truly aims for, is something that the mainstream does not understand.
Mindfulness is flawed at its base, for it calls for using the Mind to defeat the Mind.
So when I use the word - mind-fullness in the context of No-Mind, Truth or Freedom,
I am calling out the problem itself and not mindfulness (single L).
Mind-fullness, to me, is the state where one is full of their Mind (i.e. thoughtfulness).
~~~
Why is Mind-fullness (thoughtfulness) bad?
Nothing is "good" or "bad".
(Perhaps I have said this way too many times and will continue to).
When one is full of Mind, it is not "bad", it is just that,
an existence where one is essentially a puppet.
How so?
Because when one is "full of Mind", they get constantly commanded by "the fullness" which manifests itself as a "voice in their head".
This "Voice in their head" converses using the medium of thought.
Thoughts order them to do this, to go there, to make that call,
to check the calendar, to consider this or to not consider that,
to meditate, to be more mindful, to be present, etc, etc.
(Yes, meditation is not meditation if you just "started doing it" as an afterthought.)
Thoughts govern every single of the whats, whens, hows, wheres, whys, and whos of ones' existence.
While in a mind-full state, one is permanently stuck to the timeline.
The timeline of their past, present, and future.
(Hey, all the thoughts just about their present would be too "boring", otherwise, no?)
Thus also exists the intermittent oscillation of their consciousness back and forth.
Why does not one ever consider to question this existence?
I see two reasons for this.
First, amidst all this chaos of being stuck in the past or getting carried away in the future,
and being constantly commanded by their "master" about "the next thing" they will latch on to,
they never ever experience living.
The whats, whens, hows, wheres, whys and whos becomes one's "life".
How or why will one every question that which has become not just their norm,
but of every single living soul around them?
Second, an even more grave unconscious mistake they make,
is that they take the "voice in their head" as themselves
And give birth to an "I".
~~~
If all of the above were not devilish enough to make one's life living hell,
a full-of-mind existence is also about a constant chatter that one does internally -
with their own Self.
The deadly combination of having a strong sense of Self,
the unlimited and constant supply of involuntary thoughts,
and the result of being stuck to the timeline,
gives birth to a permanent internal conversation dealing with phantom stories, concerns, scenarios, and fantasies.
This chatter either alleviates them of their painful-existence by taking them to some fairyland,
or worse,
hauls them down even more down the drain as they continue to suffer in agony.
Yes.
You must be thinking how can this state be "good" if not "bad".
And I am with you on that one -
A mindful state is always headed for demise, one way or the other.
To me such a state is death.
How to be Mindless or less Mind-full?
Two words - Noticing and Separation
or in other, more "philosophical" sense - Seeing and Understanding.
Noticing what is not real and thus separating YOUrself from yourSELF.
Seeing the Truth and renewing your understanding of reality.
Noticing is a "skill" that is also an art.
You may start with just the activities you partake in, before taking on your entire life.
Mind-full activities will make you more Mind-full.
Mindless activities will make you less Mind-full.
So instead of attempting to be mindless, perhaps it will serve you to begin to separate these activities.
Before or during a mindfull activity, you may feel good or bad.
And although you may or may not start feeling "bad" immediately,
you will get sucked into the timeline - past, present, and future.
Plans of the bright (or dark) future will heighten and so will joys (or sorrows) of the past.
A mindless activity, on the other hand, will have an opposite effect.
It will clear your mind so to speak.
You will indeed feel good after such a bout.
You may notice that you aren't that bothered with what is coming or what has passed.
But what you experience as "feeling good" is simply thoughtlessness (being less full of Mind).
And maybe after activities, you can move on to other aspects of your existence.
~~~
If after reading this post, you sense a strong desire to jump on this mindless wagon,
and to begin to attempt to be less mind-full starting right this moment,
that once again,
is your Mind.
And though it might give you a glimpse of what mindlessness is like,
you will slip right back into your life tomorrow (or next week).
And that is the ugliness (or beauty) of this whole thing.
I can write to you, speak to you, beg you to be less mind-full,
but you will NOT actually DO (notice and separate) unless ...
YOU. ARE. READY
Thank you.
