The Mind is a maze

Posted by Suman on Sep 24, 2020

Seeking a thing for its own sake is a goose chase.

It is futile in the same way as

seeking something as a means to something else.

Striving for something for the prize it appears to be

or as a means to another prize is the life of 99.99%+ of the humans.

Man, as such, tends to get lost in the "hows"

and "this for that".

Almost anything that man strives for can be taken as an example.

Let us consider something as trivial as - what to eat.

When it comes to eating, at one or more stages during his living,

man will resort to the notion of "dieting" or "healthy" eating.

Most will get so carried away by the label of "diet" and "health" itself

that they will totally forget why they are in it for.

Others,

will attach too much importance to their ulterior motives

that are really driving their "diet",

and soon find themselves stuck in an "anti-diet"

of literally grinding their system to a lifelong halt.

The Mind is a maze.

A maze, the avenues of which are these strivings and strivings nested in the strivings.

And man lives his entire life in that maze.

Why?

Because out of all the many, many things that happen in this maze,

one thing just does not happen.

The one thing is him asking - Why?.

The one thing is him getting Tired of the maze and Wanting to get out.

Because that one thing does not happen,

he keeps switching between his "diets",

while also switching between the many avenues of the maze.

He never looks at the food on his plate for what it is.

To him, the plate and its contents appear as a gateway

or an exit to other nicer avenues of the maze.

The contents of his plate change not according to the seasons or his palate,

but according to "the prize" he is headed towards currently that he dare not look past.

In very much the same way, he does not bother to look past his "knowledge"

about anything and everything else in the maze.

Dear busy human,

I have no interest in pulling you out of your pleasureful predicament.

But allow me to drop some Truth for a change.

Perhaps this will disturb you just enough to get you to the brink of questioning your life.

...

"Fit",

"Diet",

"health",

"Strong",

"Jacked",

...

these are misnomers.

These are labels that give birth to strivings and "hows".

The strivings give birth to silly games of "programs" and "coaching".

These interconnected strivings will keep you lost in the strivings.

You may "get" one or more of these, but will soon realize that

retaining them is times more painful.

"What do you suggest," you ask?

I do not suggest or advise.

I point towards The Point.

The Point was made many times in the post.

If you did not get it, you are probably busy "getting".

And busy you will remain.

Thank you.
