Make the World a Better Place

Posted by Suman on Dec 22, 2019

Man says “I want to make this world a better place”

Because he is not God, he realizes that just saying so is not enough.

So he begins a doing.

(He starts an organization, a business, a charity, a project or the like.)

And that is when he misses it.

Perhaps a better word would be “skip”.

For he skips the most important “step” and that is why he misses it.

That step is UNDERSTANDING.

Any decision or action,

that does not precede a deep-seated and thoroughly visited UNDERSTANDING of,

what is being (really) done,

why is it being (really) done,

who is it being (really) done for,

will be ineffective and ultimately a waste of one’s time and resources.

(Then again all man does is waste his life on flashy and shiny things,

that fancy his attention today and become a burden to carry around tomorrow.)

To this Man will say …

Oh no, I understand. I have done thorough “research” and “analysis” before embarking on this project.

I have “validated” this and that. I have complete “belief” in what I am undertaking.

To which I will say …

No dear friend, you do not understand.

Maybe because you cannot understand. At least, not yet.

Or perhaps because the ability to UNDERSTAND was made innate to only a few.

The understanding I speak of is not of your project, research, analysis, validations, projections, 5-year plans, 10-year plans, and such superficial things.

I speak of your INTERNAL understanding, friend.

To this Man will say …

Oh you mean my motivation behind wanting to make the world a better place?

To which I will say …

No.

To which Man will say …

Then what other understanding do you imply?

Something that I do not understand?

To which I will say …

Bingo!

This conversation can now take a fruitful turn.

~~~
“It is not about the idea, it is about the execution”
You must have heard one or more versions of this floating around.
But reading this over and over again, does not make way for successful execution, does it?
Why is it so?
It is because understanding this statement equips one with nothing.
It is like carrying around a closed umbrella while caught in torrential rain and not having the ability to open it.
Carrying 5 different umbrellas isn’t going to save you from getting drenched.
If you want to make the world a better place, ideas, plans, projects, executions and the like,
are not going to cut it.
Not. One. Bit.
What will get you closer?
You saw it coming this time did you not?
Yes, understanding.
Understanding, not of superficial or mindFull matters.
Understanding of deep things. Understanding of the crux of the matter.
Understanding of the Truth.
Okay, enough chasing of shadows.
Let us get right to it this time.
You want to make “the world a better place?”
What will your agendas, plans, and projects do about it?
Yes, they may do “good” things today, perhaps even put “steps” to prevent “bad” things from happening tomorrow.
What about the day after?
What about the “bad” things that you do not know of yet?
What about the dark things beyond your imagination of “worse” or “dark”?
No, I am not shooting your project down.
No, I am not saying that there is no way.
What I am saying, is these ways are not aligned with THE WAY.
The way of the Truth.
Are you ready?
The world that you want to make better, exists inside of you.
No, I do not mean it in a glorified or pious way.
I ACTUALLY want you to see the world that you have created inside of you.
What things come to your mind when I drop the word “World” in your consciousness?
No, do not tell me that.
(I am not looking for answers, I want you to answer yourself).
THAT is your world.
Does it not make sense, to make it better first?
The other “world” is not your world.
Not even remotely close.
But do not be so eager to nod your head.
Then you will miss it, again.
I will say it again.
The “world” exists independent of you. You will NEVER EVER have any effect on it.
You do have a world.
(Inside you)
That you can make “better”.
And you do not need projects, plans, agendas, promises or demos for it.
You. Need. Understanding.
Thank you.
