Lies. Hopes. Promises.

Lies. Hopes. Promises.

Everywhere you go,

you will be inundated in these.

But what is so enchanting about this trinity,

that makes it so easy to trap people?

The answer is this ...

It allows either side to feel good about where they are.

I urge you to take a moment,

and feel the depth of the statement.

...

You see you are where you are,

because parts of you(r Mind) is a sucker for all things mediocre.

Such parts, however small or few will do anything

to prevent you from becoming YOU.

And that is why,

if you are the one who is lying (or promising or giving hope),

you will often hide from yourself,

the Truth that you are lying.

For in saying what you say,

you will be acting out of some ulterior motive.

A motive,

that a part of you will deem "normal" (or even "natural").

And because all of these parts of you,

are so well intertwined,

and act in the blink of a second (actually, faster),

you will not even be aware

that it was the underlying motive that made you utter the lie.

On the other side,

if you are the one who hears this lie,

you will not know that you just heard a lie.

Why?

Because though in the case of the liar,

the devil is in the hidden motive behind the lie,

in the case of one who is being lied to (you),

the devil is in another entity - your hidden thirst to always "feel good".

There are parts of you that are always, always looking to "feel good",

about something, anything.

When a lie enters your Mind's first layer,

(a Mind, which has not been trained to detect a lie),

will be allowed to be passed right through,

without questioning it.

And the moment the "feel good" trigger goes off,

you will (almost) forget what you heard,

and "move on" to hear the next lie.

But the monstrosity of this stops there not.

For if you just moved on,

it will be all well and good.

But behind the scenes,

not all parts of you "just move on", do they?

For there are parts that remember this -

{action} -> {reward}

- behavior.

Yes.

Very much like a pet learns new tricks.

No, I do not mean to insult you.

I literally want you to realize the similarity,

and thus appreciate the "beast of nature" that your Mind is.

Because a part of you remembers this "game",

when the time comes to escape the moment once again,

you go salivating towards such fake lies, hopes or promises,

almost feeling "hopelessly out of control".

Whereas, I would challenge you and say,

no dear friend,

you are very much under control,

you are under the control of "you".

Thank you.
