Here and Now

"If you are there to make a change,

you are not here to observe its effect."

I used to watch movies.

Now I just watch.

"Movies" have lost their magic. Completely.

But then,

something like Tenet comes along.

Every once a while

the memories of the uniqueness I witnessed last year flash back.

As more dots connect that were intentionally left open,

I am also reminded of the daunting Truth -

every single thing's exposure to

the Mind comes at a price.

Memories mostly.

And no memory, however prized, is worth the present moment.

The deepest elements of Tenet will be appreciated by a handful.

Perhaps ten. Perhaps five. Perhaps fewer.

No wonder it will be the legendary director's lowest-rated movie.

Because it is not in the slightest sense,

a movie made for the average.

Lest you confuse averageness for lack of intelligence.

Intelligence in the sense of its most widespread usage,

is a misnomer.

The "intelligent" human is merely lost in the illusion of his Mind.

He has sacrificed his innate intelligence

for what he thinks is "being intelligent".

Because neither the smart and intelligent,

nor the slow and dumb person

will truly appreciate this depiction of Christopher's sheer devotion to film-making.

The curious kid will enjoy his highs of the visuals.

The softspoken techie will more than likely appreciate the "hard work" that went behind.

The pedagogue will more or less like what he saw,

but without fail will get trapped in over-intellectualization and opinionation.

And in doing so,

all these people will miss

both the on-the-surface artistic and cinematic brilliance

and the deeper, undeniable Truth latent in the scenes and characters.

Time and again I am taken aback

by the co-occurrences of events happening in the world lately.

My Mind says "It can not be just coincidence"

I know,

It is not coincidence.

"Tenet" is merely a small link in the chain reaction.

There are far bigger and greater things in play.

The instrumentation behind it all,

is not the one to bring hope or gloom,

sadness or happiness,

excitement or boredom.

It is just there.

To be simply watched.

To be in awe of.

Like the deepest elements of Tenet,

the last paragraph will register

only to a handful of people

on this planet.

Perhaps ten. Perhaps five. Perhaps fewer.

Thank you.
