A man who is afraid today,
will be afraid for the rest of his life.
Upon hearing this statement his Mind will immediately
fight back.
It will provide him with reasons of utmost believability
as to why this is not the case.
These reasons will range from the curiosities of a boy
"This can't be true. I will conquer fear one day."
to
the internal frustration surfacing as confidence of the one in his 50s -
"Hah you moron, I am on day-3650 of the conquer-your-fears program,
and my stage-fear is nearly gone."
The boy's statement is not sourced from his innocence.
The 50-year-old boy's statement is served by his damaged-beyond-repair persona.
Because the truth of what just happened will not register to either.
Because their Mind has them.
It has them by their very neck.
Fear has many shades.
Many situations trigger it.
The shades are representative of the pathway from the absolute root
from where the fear emanates until the topmost layer of consciousness
where it is registered,
and the particular situation that triggers it.
Most men live their life resisting this knowledge about the
very many fears they experience.
Others try to conquer fear.
And they live their life under the thumb of "conquering fear".
Because both these sides do not bother with the truth...
All fears emanate from the same Fear
and,
(The) Fear cannot be (actively) conquered.
It can only be Understood.
A man will "seem to have conquered"
his fear of speaking fully and freely in front of a crowd,
by relentlessly practicing and being adamant about progress or achievement.
An athlete will "seem to have conquered"
his fear of acting out his abilities to their maximum,
come game time by practicing his technique and cues,
after being lectured on the importance of
"muscle memory" or "mind-muscle connection".
A boy will "seem to have conquered"
his fear of approaching women and holding a conversation
without having his speech stutter or legs tremble,
by obeying his coaches and gurus.
...
But alas...
It is the "I seem to have conquered" and the like,
which are really a bunch of layers of thought
erected on shaky foundations of the ego,
that will have them give in to their (deepest) Fear.
The battle against Fear will not have taken place.
Because they will stay busy exhausting all their resources
doused in the illusion of struggle and wins,
staying fearful until the moment they
are not there to be afraid.
I may sound like one, but I am no hermit.
I meet people in my day-to-day.
No, not actively.
I have no need or use for socialization.
But I do the usual chores.
The teller at the bank in his 30s.
The boy at the gym in his twenties.
The sophisticated and stylish 10-houses, 5-businesses owner in his 50s.
They do not have to tell me.
They do not have to do anything.
They just have to "step into my circle".
And it is revealed...
I see it in their eyes.
I notice it in their body language.
I hear it in the ever so subtle aberration
in the otherwise practiced delivery of their speech.
It is there. It is obvious...FEAR.
They are afraid of that which
they will never know.
