Man goes through many phases in life.
In all such phases, he lives a certain way.
Every phase usually has him headed towards a specific thing IN SIGHT,
while also dealing with a bunch of other things NOT IN SIGHT.
The things not in sight, perturb his otherwise smooth flow towards the thing in sight.
What are these "things not in sight"?
They could be many things, the things themselves are not of concern.
The main concern is the many, many ways these things:
1) Distract him from the specific thing in sight
2) Make him feel certain emotions
Depending on the phase, the emotions that he feels include ...
physical pain, mental pain, excitement, euphoria,
hope, hopes from that hope, desires from that hope, expectations from that desire,
unmet or over-met expectations, highs, lows, remorse, guilt,
getting lied to or cheated on, winning, losing,
separation, loss, achievement... the list is endless.
It is the main concern because (1) and (2) combined,
completely and totally soil his experience of a particular phase.
In most cases, the soiling is so deep and intense,
but at the same time so sporadic and unpredictable,
that he forgets the specific thing that he originally had his sight on.
And lives the rest of that phase having gotten used to not having anything IN SIGHT,
in other words, distracted.
For his main agenda becomes escaping these emotions.
Needless to say, his escapes trap him back into these emotions.
Needless to say, independent of any other "phase" he lives,
his very first phase ends up being his only phase for the rest of his life -
an existence vacillating between fickle emotions of his Mind
and infecting others around him with that fickleness.
This is the reality for more than 99%.
Very, very few manage to not lose their sight.
They hold on to it steadfastly, adamant about "living a good life".
Because they do not lose it in the first phase,
they do not lose that habit in the rest.
They do end up living a "good life".
How do they do it?
Most have to go through a lot of internal conflict and resistance.
Others rely on techniques, rules, and bandaids to get by.
Remaining don blinders to shun everything else in the world,
gather "their life" with a teeth-clenching grip,
and race forward like a horse.
While most of these < 1% do end up living all phases a man ought to experience,
not a single one of them will answer any differently than the remaining > 99%,
if they were all were asked -
"Would you do it all over again?"
All of their (unanswered) answers will be one - NO.
For they all will have failed to experience the mystery which is life.
For this is and will always be, the reality of mankind.
Almost all will live a superficial, energy-draining,
suffering at every single point, insipid life.
The deepest and richest, the very nectar of life will be
experienced by a very, very, very few people.
A number, perhaps countable
on only one hand.
Thank you.
