History has been proof that every time a massive shift in things occur,
it is characterized by the birth of a new "How" or "an answer"
- a means to keep man occupied in "productive endeavors".
Agriculture, Industries, Trade and the office culture (or the "9-to-5")
have been such endeavors in the past,
and in the times that we live today,
starting a business or a company is the new flashy train that every man wants a ride on.
And I blame him not.
For behind the scenes, it is really the Mind doing its thing.
And man is simply following along.
And every time a new "How" as this has surfaced,
it has without fail given birth to many other "hows" about it...
...
"How to start a business?"
"How to identify one's core skills?"
"How to identify the domain one should operate in?"
"How to build a team and how to retain talent?"
"How to find co-founders?"
"How to grow?"
"How to..."
...
...
Other than the very, very few,
who have no need for these "hows",
the rest of the masses who are relentlessly toiling away,
in trying to start their business,
or to keep it from falling apart,
or to losing track of its many "issues",
or quite the opposite - tired of its cancerous "growth",
cannot even imagine what they will do without them.
These endless hows, that are the chaos around the business world today,
is at the center of the existence of these people.
For the minute they "wake-up",
they go "right to bed" by plunging into the "bed of hows".
And some stay there even when they actually go to bed.
(In their dreams)
...
But who are the very, very few who seem to not bother with this chaos?
What is the one intent that separates them so completely from the rest,
that they almost become "impossible to find",
that is, until the moment that the whole world hears of them?
What most important puzzle they crack at the beginning,
that does not ever cross others' minds?
...
Oh, would you not want to know?
But first,
let us answer a different question.
For perhaps it is the first question that needs be asked,
by taking a step back from all this "how" madness...
...
Why does man get lost in it in the first place?
What burning itch does he scratch by having to "do something"?
Why can he not help latch on to whatever shiny train stops,
however momentarily, on "his platform"?
...
This latching on to endeavors,
and him getting lost amidst the resultant chaos of hows,
stems from his fear of two things:
(1) Succumbing to a life of only sloth and pleasure.
(2) Learning his deeper, innate and artistic abilities to create.
But even in selecting an endeavor, no matter of what grandeur,
or how much success it brings to him,
he is not fully emancipated from (1) (i.e. the need for pleasure.)
And he either gives in to them and partakes "from time to time"
or he relies on rules and beliefs to steer clear.
And thus, no matter what way he chooses to "live", he is not free.
Why?
For little does he realize,
the deeper fear behind (1) and (2) ...
The fear of learning who he really is.
That is, the fear of learning the Truth about himself,
and in the process,
unleash the dormant, but ravenous artist starving within him.
Yes.
Such is the irony of man's life
He spends his life being afraid,
never coming face to face with his real fear.
And what is more,
is his frustrations around his inability to create.
"Nah I am no artist" - he says to himself.
But has he any idea ...
That it is only in unleashing the artist within him,
that he will be able to create.
And the path of creation,
is one away from that of chasing or needing "hows" at every step.
For creation, at its core, is liberating,
and any and all chases are imprisoning.
For a "how" may "satisfy" temporarily,
but very soon will only and only do one thing -
give birth to the need for more "hows".
Such an insatiable and illusionary need,
can only give birth to one thing - suffering.
And I do not have to tell you,
for your life may be the living proof that ...
...when one suffers in one aspect of their life,
they suffer in every single other aspect.
Thank you.
